"In recent years, collaborative efforts between key member states within the Federation have led to experiments involving a new type of soldier—devoid of feelings, pain, or emotion. This creation was designed with the implicit intent to serve as cost-effective replacements for traditional meat-and-bone troops, aimed at reducing the human toll of warfare. However, the Federation and the entire Universe were unprepared for the impending storm. Mysterious, unidentified vessels have begun to appear sporadically along the galactic frontier. These ships not only appear to be crewed by the very same technologies we believe we have developed, but they seem to have perfected them as well. Whoever or whatever is behind these vessels remains unresponsive to our hails, opting instead for immediate escalation of hostile actions and rapid deployment of what the pilots have dubbed 'Micro-fighters.'
Cross-referencing with neighboring universes' Federations has yielded no additional insights beyond what we have already gleaned. Were it not for the ongoing Multiversal War with the Rebellion, we might possess the resources required to address these disturbances or even study them, assuming the egg heads back in their labs ever grow a spine to ever go on field assignments... This is where you come in, Renegade. In the event that you encounter any of these enigmatic vessels, we are prepared to offer a substantial hazard bonus for each neutralized target. Furthermore, should you choose to embark on this 'side quest,' any information you gather will earn you an additional bonus. So, Renegade, what say you? Will you accept this challenge?" ~~~~
This is a teaser for the first release of an upcoming mod independent from Go Ballistic which focuses on a new race, encounters, and arsenal from these unknown vessels. This release will be rather bare bones focusing on simply new player ships, weapons, drones, and augments to gauge interest and balance. With enough support this can very well grow into something more substantial. This mod and the continued developments will focus on adding content from far and distant multiverses with an emphasis on lore and story elements from these distant lands shining through rather than just encounters and fights. With an emphasis on a 'cluster' that to some may appear more familiar than initially expected. Until then, stay tuned Renegades!

Testing shall commence shortly.
The mod contains 3 layouts of the vessel accompanied by weapons, drones, augments, a renegade, and achievements. Your task is to test these contents and to report any comments, queries, or problems in your sessions. I would love to hear feedback on gameplay balance, the sprites, sound effects, and also bug reports. This mod doesn't contain any events outside of a single minor renegade encounter.
Do note that the "AI Microfighters" are intended to be on a tier above regular items and weapons, you can think of them similar to some of the "Weapon+" improved weapons or transport loot in some cases. Their exact presence in the mod is unknown beyond being on these AI ships stock. But I may include weaker versions or higher power versions in events and stores in the future. Feedback and ideas on this is welcome as with any other piece of equipment.

I reckon most people aren't prepared to transition to the forums. That and forum culture in general has been on the receding end for the past decade especially with the prominence of things like Discord. But I would love to see more people engage with this forum and this thread in general.

Events, more enemy encounters, stores, etc. are still far from completion and will be added sometime in the future but until then this will lay dormant for awhile. Though I too intend to throw in a couple more weapons, drones, and augments as a light update in some point depending on my free time. Are you excited? What are you anticipating of the future of this mod? Why do some things here look somewhat familiar?! Soon enough you'll be able to answer most of these questions yourself soon. Until then I would love to hear what you guys think.

I think it'd be helpful given how the Effector works if you got a blue text option for the defense system repair event, similar to what ion weapons get but different.

Also I'm not sure how but I think the Effector is making enemy crew immune to suffocation/fire. I noticed while using it to hack rooms they're suffocating in they'll just stop taking damage sometimes. It could be something with one of the many mods I'm running but figured I'd mention.

I think it'd be helpful given how the Effector works if you got a blue text option for the defense system repair event, similar to what ion weapons get but different. A common suggestion. It is something I have been thinking about but I was debating if I should do it sooner or later, since the new version of slipstream mod manager can make it significantly easier to do as I could write a short bit of xml that'll append an effector option to every hacking option which would save me a lot of writing and effort.
