I've been playing ftl since it first came out and eventually unlocked everything on hard. Why is it I still spend so much time playing bad ships on hard? It is a $1 game that is more than 10 years old? And why do my friends all dismiss my love for it as a personality defect?
A few days ago youtube presented me with a review of multiverse and I was intrigued. Gave it a try and wow! Enabled renegade pack and started playing on normal.
OMG Im having so much fun. I won first run, unlocked a bunch of ships and started playing the shell cruiser a. There's so much new stuff that sounds so fun, couldn't help but squander my cash on stupid weapons, get bit by unfair choices and died gloriously over and over, and I'm just cackling the entire time. I want to use that weapon, I don't care if its bad. Finally had a great run last night, avoided some common dialog traps, tamed some sort of horsey and unlocked three more shell cruisers. Felt like a real accomplishment and now I think I need a few days to bask in the glow.
Anyway, point I'd like to impress: I think I know my way around ftl and appreciate of its balance and humor and I am BLOWN AWAY by Multiverse - its just so fun in so many unexpected ways.
I am in awe of you creators - you've literally improved upon what I thought was the best game of all time.
