DARKEST DESIRE - VENTURE INTO THE ABYSS
Important:
Patch after Multiverse (5.4.6+), and make sure your Hyperspace is updated!
Darkest Desire is a general content mod focused on new, lore-heavy sectors, as well as everything else! Including: a new race, the Deep Ones, Elites and Super Elites for existing races (namely the Engi right now), new Uniques, new ships, new augments, mechanics, weapons, drones, etcetera! To get started, look for non-unique neutral and unique hostile sectors.
I've playtested what I can, as a solo dev, but I imagine there's plenty left to be fixed or fine-tuned. If you find anything odd, mistyped, or just plain broken feel free to ping me in #the-shipyard (naimeron ). I intend to fix things as soon as I can, and I apologize for anything that may break!

The Deep One sector is a non-unique neutral sector, and within it, an event is guaranteed to spawn (with no ship) that gives you the coordinates to the Enlightened secret sector. Once there, the voice that speaks to you will judge your actions and give you a different ending to the sector accordingly. The Enlightened sector is where the Deep One Cultists, the Enlightened, lie, protected by their Dark God in a sea of infinite darkness. Within the sector you'll mostly find Enlightened, but you're not the only poor soul who's been led here to be sacrificed as tribute. As far as loot is concerned, the Dark God gifts weapons that harness its powers over darkness to those it deems worthy... or, you can just steal them. There's 3 ships, 2 of them having A, B and C layouts (making for 7 layouts total) and the third being a Crewser (there's a unique Deep One!).
A new unique hostile sector, the Disparity Assault, takes place within an active war zone between the Harmony and a never-before-seen sect of Separatists that call themselves the Disparity. As you traverse
the sector, you'll have to make choices and decide whose side you're on... though, you can always just be out for yourself and simply do what you think will get you paid the most. Something divine taints this war, though, on
both sides... you'll have to be careful as you explore. There's 3 ships, 5 new layouts total, dedicated to content in this sector, as well as new drones, augments, Elites, Super Elites, weapons... all the loot you could ever desire.
Something new lurks within the deepest depths of the Dark God's domain. A new event is guaranteed to spawn within the Enlightened secret sector, and completing it allows you to embark on a quest to uncover
something truly unnatural... the result of a horrific ritual, as well as the strange book responsible. Collecting this book allows one to perform their own rituals, ascend to new heights, devote themselves to the Dark God, and even... read fairy tales?
