The game always crashes after I accept the Free Mantis challenge whereby after I defeat him, he will join my crew.

If it still happen, can you retrieve your FTL.log, FTL_HS.log from your FTL folder, plus any crashlog files from your FTL/crashlogs folder, and share them, assuming you are on the latest Multiverse version? What are you loading on Slipstream, and in what order?
